An envelope bearing a straight line ZACATECAS and a fancy FRANCO. There are no contents or indication of the date mailed. However, it is an envelope and envelopes were introduced to Mexico by the Europeans in the 1862 - 1863 time-frame. And these two cancels were recorded as having been used for "sello negro" franking in that same period.
Cover mailed from Carro, a Zacatecas sub-office, to Mexico City on November 5, 1864.
